Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage comes with every Windows 10 computer. In this post I will be going over some of Microsoft OneDrive features.
Access your files from any device
A key feature of OneDrive cloud storage is being able to access your files from any device. Your phone, tablet, or Mac or PC. This can be done from any where. Let’s say you started working on a document at home and had to leave. When you get to your destination you login to OneDrive and retrieve your unfinished document. Changes you make will be updated on all your devices.
OneDrive cloud storage offline access
OneDrive gives us the option to save our files in the cloud and locally. Allowing you to stay productive when you’re not online. This means you can always have your most important files with you.
File security
If you lose your local backups, you don’t have to worry about losing your files or photos, they’re always in your OneDrive. OneDrive uses a strong AES 256-bit encryption which is (FIPS) 140-2 compliant. There are 2 types of security that OneDrive uses to protect your data, in transit file security and files at rest security. Data that is in transit to Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage is encrypted with TLS encryption using 2048-bit keys.
Share and collaborate
Share files, folders, and photos with friends and family. Need to send a large file to a friend or colleague, no more attachments or thumb drives – just send a link to the file in your email, text or most any social media platform.
OneDrive cloud storage on Windows 10
Log into OneDrive by using your Microsoft account login info. Then tell OneDrive which folders you want to sync. The free version will give you 5 GB, which was not enough for me, but could be for you. If you decided to get the most affordable version of Office 365 you get 1 TB of storage included with your purchase. If you already use Microsoft Office, were thinking about upgrading and just happen to be looking for a cloud service to store your files and media, then it might make sense for you. Once you have it all setup, all of your Office 365 documents will automatically get saved to your OneDrive cloud storage drive. Then access your files from anywhere on any computer, tablet or phone.
