I think many of Modern Warfare 2019 stuttering on the Xbox Series S issues stem from it’s hardware capabilities. Which could be why there are far fewer complaints of stuttering and loss of frame rates on Xbox Series X and PS5.
Modern Warfare 2019 Stuttering
My gameplay experience ranged from; freezing up, crashing, aim spinning, quick scoping, screen glitching and a massive drop in frame rates. If I had to take a guess, as of this post I’d say Modern Warfare 2019 is getting 20-30 fps with occasional lag spikes on top of it. This game went from being my favorite to an absolute nightmare to play.
Prior to the Warzone Pacific update, gameplay was smooth running at 120hz upscaled to 1440p. Those numbers make it easy for the eyes to track on screen movement for long periods of time. So high speed gameplay for an entire evening was not a problem. What else can I say, except I hope Activision addresses this problem soon.
As for the Xbox Series X, I have no experience with Modern Warfare 2019 Stuttering. Although, I have read some concerning comments in Reddit.
There is one issue for PS5 version of Modern Warfare 2019 I’d like to mention, Activision did not give their PS5 users a FOV slider. They need to address that! From experience, playing at 80 FOV is a major disadvantage in competitive gameplay.
