Amazon Prime Mobile App
My intention was to uninstall multiple apps on my Android device. By accident I pressed the Amazon Prime Mobile App, it opened and I proceeded to close it, when sitting right next to the close X icon I accidentally clicked on the Amazon Prime ad. Bingo. The next thing that happened, a pop-up says, Congratulations on your new Amazon Prime membership! What? So in a matter of seconds I spent $101.13 without agreeing to any disclaimer or talking to anyone.
My point is…
It takes a single second and one accidental press for Amazon to charge you $101.13. No warning, nothing, they just charged me. You may think there has to be more to it, but I assure you, there was not. All I had to do is open the Amazon Prime App and because of the placement of the ad being so close to the close icon, they will automatically charge you $101.13 for a Amazon Prime membership.
At this point you have no choice but to call Amazon customer support to cancel the charge at 1-866-216-1072. We all know how much we hate making these kind of calls. To make things more interesting, the Amazon Prime agent tells me I would have to wait 3-5 business days to get my $101.13. Insanity. So be careful when opening Amazon Prime apps on your smartphone.
