A2Hosting Review

A2Hosting Review

Before I get started on the A2Hosting review, I feel it’s important to disclose my background in the web design and web hosting industry. I am writing this review based on my personal experience with A2Hosting hosting.

My name is Anthony, I have been building and supporting websites since the late 90s. I’ve been building and supporting on WordPress since it began in 2003. I am self taught in HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript. Tools of choice; WordPress and Photoshop. In 2022, most of the projects I work on are WordPress sites. In 2022, Photoshop continues to be my go to application for image optimization and creating custom graphics for websites and social media platforms.

A2Hosting Pros

From my experience, A2Hosting is the fastest web host I have tested. In my personal opinion, A2Hosting is a company that is focused on speed and customer support. In the A2Hosting Pros section of this post, you will find facts that I’ve gathered from my own personal experience. Everything from 24/7 USA based English speaking customer support, affordability, speedy cPanel, website uptime and overall ease of use. For my affordable shared hosting needs, it’s A2Hosting.

Speed

I give A2Hosting an overall speed rating of excellent. Out of everything I will speak of regarding A2Hosting, it is their speed that stands out for me. The moment you log into the A2Hosting Dashboard, right away you notice how fast everything you do responds. Compared to other top tier web hosts, navigating through cPanel was a speedy experience. Pages loaded so fast it made me giggle.

A2Hosting includes SSDs with all of their hosting plans. Which could explain why everyone’s website loads so fast. Many factors play into a fast website, hosting on SSD servers is one. The WordPress platform benefits greatly from this.

Uptime

Personally I’ve had no issues with A2Hosting’s uptime or functional reliability. That means I have absolutely nothing negative to report. Therefore I have to give A2Hosting an uptime rating of excellent.

Plans

I am familiar with all of A2Hosting’s shared web hosting plans. The plan I choose and recommend for most people is their “Turbo Boost for $6.99/mo.” Compared to what’s out there, that’s a pretty slick introductory price for an elite web host. There is one thing to keep in mind. When you sign up with a web host, they all have introductory offers to get you in the door. All of them! After that offer expires, the price will jump up to it’s regular price. If the renew price is too high, you will end up zipping up your site and migrate to a new web host. It’s happened to me a few times.

For my A2Hosting review, what would I rate their shared hosting plans? Since their introductory price is so good, I would have to give them a very good, not quite excellent. Why? Even though the plan I choose renews at $20.99/mo., there are cheaper web hosts, then again, that comes at a cost of a reduction in service.

Support

Besides A2Hosting’s overall performance, their customer support is the best I’ve used. Before I signed up with A2Hosting, I called around several web hosts. I really hate being negative, but Bluehost was a nightmare. Inmotion Hosting also a nightmare. Godaddy also not good. Then SiteGround, not so bad. I spoke with a Russian guy who spoke very good English and was able to answer all my questions. The problem I had with SiteGround was renewal price. Then I called A2Hosting, got an English speaking guy from the US. This guy was very good and gave me the full rundown. I called back again and got another agent who was also very good. That was all I needed.

Cons

So far, A2Hosting has none. Except for their renew price of $20.99/mo. for the boost plan is kind of high. But that’s after the 3 year term of $6.99/mo. So it’s not terrible, but not great either. For me, everything else is excellent. If that renew price is too high, renegotiate your contract.

Final Thoughts

This review was created to save my readers time and money. I hope everyone appreciates my honesty. The last thing I want is for you guys to go through the hassle of paying a web host, migrating your site just to realize you made a mistake. I’ve been there so you don’t have to.

Whichever web host you decide to go with I wish you the best.
